West Chicago Historical Society Spring Tea Fundraiser

On Sunday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m., the Historical Society is hosting a Spring Tea Fundraiser at the West Chicago Community Center, 306 Main Street, West Chicago, IL 60185. Please join us as we commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War with a tea luncheon. Over the four year war, 1,500 DuPage County men responded to the call for volunteers to protect the Union, including men from Turner, as West Chicago was named at the time. Guests will learn about heroism displayed by local soldiers in the fight and be entertained by Civil War era songs performed by the History Singers, including the chance to sing-along. Come back in time with the Historical Society as you experience the cultural sounds of this tumultuous time.

Tickets for the tea are $15.00 a guest, includes lunch and entertainment. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to sponsor a table. Tables sponsors will provide table decorations, linens and dinnerware. Luncheon menu to include salad, scones, finger sandwiches, tea, lemonade, and desserts. Contact Sara Phalen at 815-751-0551 or Joan 630-231-2329 for reservations.
